The first trailer for Bravo's Dirty John series is here, and it's a chilling look at romance gone wrong.

Based on the podcast and articles produced by the Los Angeles Times, Dirty John tells the true story of how conman John Meehan (Eric Bana) seduced the unsuspecting businesswoman Debra Newell (Connie Britton), taking us all the way through their tumultuous relationship to its bloody end. The trailer highlights all the typical hallmarks of a whirlwind relationship -- the foray into online dating, the perfect first date, and the sweet, doting honeymoon phase.

Things take a dark turn, though, when Debra's two daughters start to get creeped out by their mom's new man, and rightly so! Bana takes John from charming to sinister and back again in the blink of an eye, and you can't help but get chills when his eyes go cold. Oh, and those pesky past restraining orders against him that Debra finds don't help matters either!

Dirty John Is Keeping the Zombies - Just Not from The Walking Dead

As if you couldn't tell this thriller was heading for disaster, the trailer opens with a frantic 9-1-1 call about screaming and blood, but you'll have to watch to find out whose!
